WFIPP is delighted to welcome a new collaborative partner! We are sure that our collaboration will be fruitful!
Urinary and fecal incontinence affect more than ten million people in Germany. Founded in 1987, the German Continence Society (Deutsche Kontinenz Gesellschaft e.V.) is the medical and scientific professional society dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of urinary and fecal incontinence as well as pelvic floor disorders.
With around 2,500 experts from urology, gynecology, surgery, neurology, pediatrics, nursing, physiotherapy, and pharmacy, the Society promotes quality assurance in treatment and counseling. It officially recognizes physician-led counselling centers throughout Germany and, together with other medical professional societies, certifies Continence and Pelvic Floor Centers as well as Centers for Interstitial Cystitis (IC Centers).
Currently, there are more than 1,000 physician counselling centers, 43 Continence and Pelvic Floor Centers, and 11 IC Centers. Regular congresses and educational programs support the transfer of knowledge into clinical practice.
The German Continence Society e.V. is a member of the Association of the Scientific Medical Societies in Germany (AWMF).
