May is Women’s Health Month, and as part of NAFC’s We Count campaign, we’re focusing on an issue that affects many women but is too often dismissed or minimized: bladder leaks during pregnancy and after childbirth.

Pregnancy and delivery can place significant stress on the pelvic floor, and many women experience leakage when they cough, sneeze, laugh, exercise, or feel a sudden urge to go. While bladder leaks are common during this stage of life, that does not mean women should have to manage them quietly or assume nothing can be done.

Through our We Count campaign, NAFC is working to raise awareness of the real impact of incontinence on women’s lives — from physical symptoms to confidence, daily activities, emotional well-being, and quality of life. We want more women to understand why leaks happen, when to seek help, and what treatment options may be available.
