The Czech National Association of Patient Organizations (NAPO) is taking the opportunity of the Czech presidency of the Council of the EU and organizes an international conference in Prague titled “Involving Patient Organizations in Health Policy Decision-Making”. Representatives of European patient organizations, Czech public health institutions and other stakeholders will explore the future role of patient organizations and share best practices from several countries. The conference takes place on 8 September in Prague and online participation is also possible. NAPO organizes the conference in partnership with European Patients’ Forum (EPF) and Patient Access Partnership (PACT). The Czech umbrella organization was formally established only at the beginning of 2022 but has already introduced a national strategy for digital medicine, a proposal of sustainable funding of Czech patient organizations, cooperated on a new law introducing a definition of a patient organization, and promoted new topics such as remote dispensing of prescription medicine or the right to be forgotten. |
