On Friday 25th November our president Lynne van Poelgeest will participate in a workshop callled “Commitment to Collaboration in Continence Care”.

Commitment to Collaboration in Continence Care is a day-long workshop held during the annual conference of the Sociedad Iberoamericana de Neurourología y Uroginecología (SINUG) in Madrid  (Madrid, 25 November 2022). The workshop will include representatives from the World Federation of Incontinence and Pelvic Problems (WFIPP), the International Continence Society (ICS), European Association of Urology (EAU) Patient Office, SINUG and a number of patient advocacy groups with functional urology as their principal remit. The workshop is funded by Medtronic.

The objective of the workshop is to agree the content and scope of a “Commitment to Collaboration in Continence Care”: a Memorandum of Understanding for joint working between leading international scientific societies (as represented by ICS, EAU and SINUG), and patient organizations (as represented by WFIPP). It is hoped that this commitment will become the basis for meaningful collaboration between scientific societies and patient associations in continence care, and can be used as a template for future joint working agreements between patient organizations and other medical societies around the world.

A follow up meeting is planned during the EAU23 Congress in Milan, Italy from 10-13th March 2023.
