PROJECT ANNOUNCEMENT

We are glad to work on a critical yet often overlooked challenge: severe urinary incontinence (UI) in elderly women. 👵🏾👩‍🦳

UI affects 55–60 million Europeans, yet it remains a stigmatised issue. In 2023 alone, its economic burden in Europe was nearly €70 billion, and without action, costs will rise by 25% in the coming years due to an ageing population. Beyond the numbers, UI deeply impacts the quality of life, work, sexuality, and emotional wellbeing, and creates a major ecological burden through the widespread use of incontinence pads.

ALLIAX is a European Alliance dedicated to improving UI management in nursing homes. By bringing together health professionals, policymakers, and stakeholders, we aim to improve patient care, ease economic strain, and reduce environmental impact.
